Origin of symbols

All symbols known for people today are symbols that appeared long time ago and were created by our ancestors before Christ. The appearance and creation of those symbols has a lot of reasons and those reasons are mostly based on lack of knowledge of our ancestors. Sure, this explanation is not common for all the symbols we know today, as there are a lot of symbols that were created long after that age and were created by people who were skilful at writing and reading unlike those ancient ancestors.
Though, a great number of symbols appeared during the times when people expressed their feelings and recordered their history using signs and images. They had no alphabet and no language to express what they saw in words, so they used the images of trees, flowers, animals and other animate and inanimate objects to describe what they saw. Those images were chosen according to feelings and emotions most of people had towards some event or object.
Say, if they wanted to express their fear they draw some terrible beast and that beast may be recognised as a word "fear". The same with other words and symbols historians found out on the rocks at those places were our ancient ancestors lived. Another factor that influenced the appearance of symbols and signs is a factor of religion. People took efforts to explain things they saw every day but didn't understand them, so they worshiped the nature and natural events and made up gods who managed one or another natural event.
With the appearance of gods the spirits appeared as an explanation why distressing occasions happen to people. Say, if they were asking their gods to provide them with some goods and no goods were given them the evil spirits were recognised as responsible for that. Those spirits and gods were something supernatural for people, something they have never seen but they knew for sure it does exist. That was the reason why people saw demons and spirits as something extremely different from gods, and they provided them with certain air and that air was reflected in symbols and images.
The etymology of the meanings of most symbols remains unknown as symbols are products of humans' imagination and it is hard to fine exact and true explanation for appearance of one or another symbol. Though the etymology of symbols remains unknown and there are only theories about it, the meanings of symbols remain unchanged till nowadays just like the emotions and feelings those feelings provoke in the minds of people.
Though, there are symbols the etymology of meanings of which is known for a great number of scientists and people, though their meanings are changed. A lot of symbols were provided with meanings different of those they had from the very beginning and most people consider those symbols to be the symbols of some unpleasant meaning but indeed those may be the symbols of the most humanistic and kind meaning.
